Trustelem protected candidate in 2017 French presidential runoff

In the aftermath of the presidential campaign, one can only note that fears of cyberattacks for political manipulation were justified. The level of vigilance was particularly high, as evidenced by the meeting of the National Defense Council on 1 March 2017, at the end of which the President of the Republic, François Hollande, asked "a mobilization of all necessary means of the State [...] so that no malicious action can come to taint the campaign and the vote". The National Information Systems Security Agency (ANSSI) and the National Control Commission for the Presidential Election Campaign (CNCCEP) then coordinated to deal with possible attacks.

It is in this context of increased vigilance that the campaign team of the Socialist Party (PS) candidate decided to bring its IT protection to a new level. It hired a security architecture consulting firm, FASIS Consulting, which deployed the Trustelem IDaaS (Identity-as-a-Service) authentication solution for the campaign team. Configured to achieve a very high level of security, this solution is able to deny different types of cyber attacks, such as phishing / password stealing or brute force password breaking. FASIS selected the following measures to protect Benoît Hamon's campaign team:

"As an administrative manager of the campaign, I was keen to have a solution that addressed critical security issues, without burdening team members with complex procedures. Meeting these two expectations is a real progress in terms of security, ease-of-use and efficiency in everyday life" said Bastien Recher, administrative secretary general of the campaign and deputy mayor of the eleventh arrondissement of Paris.

"Benoît Hamon's campaign team took the security of his campaign seriously and there were no data leaks, but the fight against cyber threats is a permanent job, and we're improving all our solutions and business processes to further secure our customers" said Grégory Haïk, President of Trustelem.
